Home 9 Placement Test 9 Why do I need to take a placement test?

It’s a good question. Why indeed?

In life we often find ourselves in need of advice. Sometimes we consult with friends or family. When we are sick we seek the advice of medical professionals. In terms of education, it is very much the same.

When you take a placement test, you permit your teacher to see what your strengths and weaknesses are. Maybe you need help with grammar, or you need to expand your vocabulary, or you want to work on your accent. A placement test simply tells us what you have learned and retained so far. With this knowledge, we can determine what learning materials might best suit you, and hold your interest.

Learning a language should be challenging, but it should also be fun and enjoyable. Knowing what you know can help us as educators plan a pleasant, engaging, and hopefully fun experience for you, with just enough challenge to keep you interested, and just enough fun to keep you coming back for more.

Most of you have been studying English for quite some time. Wouldn’t you like to know where you stand after all this time? Wouldn’t it be nice to know how far you have come, and how far you have yet to go?

Go ahead! Take the placement test! And let’s get started planning your language education needs for the future, so you can get to where you want to be!

It’s free, so what’s stopping you?
